  MyTomTom helps you to ensure you always have the latest TomTom application installed. To check if a new application version is available, connect your navigation device to your computer.

  	Before you connect your navigation device to your computer for the first time, go to tomtom.com/getstarted and download the MyTomTom support application. Once installed, MyTomTom will check for updates each time you connect your navigation device. Status icons in MyTomTom   An update is available for your device. For updates with majour impact on the functionality of your device the download starts automatically. For other updates click Start downloading in MyTomTom.         The download and installation are in progress. Make sure that you keep your navigation device connected to your computer.         The download is complete. You can disconnect your navigation device from your computer.

  TomTom HOME helps you to ensure you always have the latest TomTom application installed. To check if a new application version is available, connect your navigation device to your computer. Then click Update my device in HOME.

  	When you update your navigation device through HOME you are able to download many different updates including, new applications, voices, QuickGPSfix, MapShare updates, and much more. For instructions on how to update your navigation device, see below.     Before you begin, make sure that you have TomTom HOME installed. 1. Connect your device to your computer. If you are prompted to connect to your computer, tap YES. 2. By default, HOME will automatically run and check for updates when you connect your device. 3. If HOME did not run automatically, run it now. To start HOME manually, do one of the following: In Windows Vista, click the Start button and then click All Programs > TomTom > TomTom HOME. In Windows XP, click start > All Programs > TomTom > TomTom HOME. In Mac OS X, click Go > Applications and then double-click TomTom HOME. 4. If HOME doesn't check for updates automatically, click on Update my device. 5. If you are not already logged-in, you will be prompted to do so now. If you do not have an account you can create one in HOME now. 6. All of your updates will be listed in the next screen. Click on Update and install to install your items. If there are any application updates, these will be shown here as well 7. When HOME has finished downloading your updates click Done. 8. Properly disconnect your TomTom from your computer before removing it from the USB cable/dock. 9. We recommend repeating this process until no application updates are offered.
