
Before you Begin - TomTom HOME needs to be installed on your computer
- Backup your TomTom device
- Backup your Favorites or they will be lost

1. Connect your device to your computer using the included USB cable or home dock and switch it on. When prompted to connect, choose Yes. 
2. If it does not start automatically, run TomTom HOME by selecting the icon on the desktop or in your programs menu. 3. It is advisable to disable or end any other currently running applications, especially your anti-virus software (Norton, McAfee, etc.). 4. Insert the update DVD into your computer's DVD drive. 5. Inside TomTom HOME, select Delete from TomTom on the left-hand side column. 6. On the right-hand column of your TomTom Home screen, select the North America map and hit the Delete button on the bottom of the same pane. If you have a GO 910 or GO 700, delete North America. If you have a ONE, GO 510, GO 300 or Navigator 6 with the USA/Canada map, delete USA and Canada. If you are using Navigator, delete all Regional or State maps you wish to update.
Important: TomTom 910 users, DO NOT DELETE your Western Europe or Canary Islands map! 7. Select Delete in the lower right-hand corner of HOME. 
NOTE: HOME may warn you not to delete the map unless you have a backup. Choose Delete to proceed. 
Once deleted you can proceed with the installation of your application and new map(s). 
1. Select Install to TomTom from the left-hand column of HOME. Make sure that TomTom CD is selected from the top of the center column. 
2. If you have already updated your TomTom application to version 6 or you currently own a 910, 510, ONE or Navigator 6, you can proceed to number 3 for map installation instructions. 2a. If you are using an application previous to version 6 you will need to install the updated application from the DVD. 
3. To install your new maps, simply select the box next to the map you wish to install and choose Install. If you have a GO 910 or GO 700, install North America. If you have a ONE, GO 510, GO 300 or Navigator 6 with the USA/Canada map, install USA and Canada. Navigator users who have installed a regional or state map, install the regional map of your choice.

4. Enter your 15-digit product code from the product code card included with your update DVD and click OK. If you do not have an Internet connection, select Skip. 
Important: if you skip this step, your maps will not be activated and you will not be able to use your TomTom until they are activated. 5. Once the installation has finished, be sure to properly disconnect your device by clicking on the My Device icon. 
6. Please re-enable your anti-virus software. Congratulations! Your new map and application are now installed and ready for use
